For this edition of the Concorso, we have chosen a project titled ‘Un Furgone per la Speranza’ or ‘A Van for Hope’- an initiative dedicated to combating poverty in Rome by recovering and redistributing fresh, edible food nearing its expiration date to solidarity initiatives in need.

ACLI Roma organises and facilitates a remarkable food-donating network powered by a fleet of thermally insulated vans. This network connects municipalities, food producers – including bakers, catering services, restaurants, retail shops, large-scale retailers, and local food markets -and charitable organisations, such as soup kitchens, parishes, and other charities. Together, they ensure the efficient distribution of temperature-sensitive goods to vulnerable communities. The project also includes targeted efforts to educate and raise awareness about the importance of food recovery, promoting a culture of sustainability and social solidarity.

As part of this initiative, the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Hotel is proud to join the network, contributing to the recovery and redistribution of food and essential supplies to support those in need. We have also elected to fund the purchase of a new thermally insulated van to help reach more charities.
